Biography:

Educated at Bearwood College, Mark joined BCA Films in 1990 and began assisting reputable DP’s including Philip Bonham Carter on the BAFTA Nominated, ‘The Killing of JFK’ (US, 1993). Pursuing a passion for film-making he completed vocational and academic courses at Northbrook College and Bournemouth University, graduating with a Master of Arts degree in 1996.

He progressed as a freelance lighting cameraman on news, travel, property and popular culture documentaries, but it was his proficiency filming music and advertising promos for artists and global brands where he established himself as a Director of Photography. After a dozen short films Mark photographed his first feature, ‘Capital Punishment’ (2003) followed by titles including, ‘The Crew’ (2008) and ‘Age of Heroes’ (2011). He continues to work across all forms of media.

Other: Mark has directed factual and scripted television including the children's drama, 'Primary Burns' (1997), which won him the Royal Television Society Award. He has also been a guest lecturer on film studies courses and a stills photographer for celebrity and public figures. Fortunate to travel extensively with work, he's been responsible for camera crews in over 65+ countries, and aside from helicopters, hot air balloons and other modes of moving transport, he can boast filming onboard the Queen’s Flight and Air Force One.

TV Documentaries: Filmed over 75 hours of broadcast documentaries for BBC, Channel 4 and Discovery.

News: Freelance cameraman covering events and 'live' broadcasts for BBC and SKY News from 1997-2003.

Corporate Media: Filmed 80+ corporate promos with clients including: British Airways and England Athletics.

BCA: Mark is a company director of British Ceromonial Arts and has produced, directed and photographed for the Monarchy and Royal Household since 1991. Following the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales, he was privileged to assist on the historic 'live' broadcast given by The Queen on 5th Sept '97. Mark’s also shot inserts and the “Queen's Christmas Broadcast” with DP's Philip Bonham Carter and Peter Wilkinson (1997 - ).

Personal: As an ex-county cricketer and rugby union player, Mark has a passionate interest in all things sport.
He enjoys tennis, sailing, travel, DIY, cooking and is a strong supporter of animal welfare.
