Biography: ![]() Mark Hamilton began his career as an enthusiastic and resourceful assistant to many reputable DOP's whilst completing vocational and academic courses in Film, TV & Video Production, concluding in a Master of Arts degree (Bournemouth Uni, 1997). Since then he's developed as an independent cinematographer working in the features, shorts, advertising and music industries. Accomplished in film, video and high definition formats he also has a broad CV in television across all genres from 'soaps' and single dramas to social and popular culture documentaries. In addition to his work as a cinematographer, Mark has directed a diverse range of projects including the children’s drama, 'Primary Burns' for which he won a Royal Television Society Award for his direction. Fortunate to travel extensively with his work, Mark has been responsible for kits, crews and 'carnets' in 60+ countries, invariably working with local guides, crews and facility houses. And, aside from helicopters, hot air balloons and many other modes of moving transport, he can boast filming onboard both the Queen’s Flight and Air Force One... Other: As an ex-county cricketer and rugby union player, Mark has a passionate interest in all things sport and regularly keeps himself match fit. He’s also a keen amateur chef and likes to indulge in red wine from time to time.! |
